hi keith/toby the manifolds i will be using are standard 1600 cc twin port factory f1 manifolds. i think the standard throttle body should do the job.i have yet to speak to my local aircooled parts supplier and discuss this.i would prefer to use the std type 3 t/body as all the alloy parts i use will either be chromed or polished. the computer i intend to use is called 'injec' and is used in numerous cars here for street and race applications.this computer is very similar to anything else that is available on the market that have on the spot programming i.e no pc required. if you look at some guys who are using aftermarket injection on their race cars,it should give you a fair indication of how easy this system is to use once programmed. the major cost in setting up a system like this is in the purchase of the computer. the benefits,as you probably know are numerous. hell, you can even move the computer from one car to another(provided the other car/s is/are setup with an f1 system as well)and change the settings on the computer to suit your new car!these settings can also be programmed into the computor so all that needs to be done is press a button to select the new programme. the costs that i anticipate are as follows; these are in new zealand dollars i.e. 1000 nz dollars=$650 us. so here goes; computor-1000 1600cc dual port type 3 manifolds already have(by the way-another advantage of using type 3 manifolds is that the engine lid can be closed and it looks stock!!) injectors-get off a late model car-$150 for 4 good ones setting up and misc.=i have allowed 300-400 nz dollars. i will be speaking to my local aircooled specialist on friday and i will let you know of any upcoming developments. the beauty of a system like this is that when you increase the size of your engine you simply adjust the compuer to allow for it. regards vern ---------- > From: vernon chand <vychand@ihug.co.nz> > To: type-3@umich.edu > Subject: after market fuel injection > Date: Sunday, 16 November 1997 08:23 > > hi guys > > has anyone experimented with an aftermarket computor to run fuel injection? > > i have got a system lined up which consists of the following; > > aftermarket computer-fully programmeable-no pc required > fuel injection manifolds-type 3 > japanese throttle body > japanese injectors > electric fuel pump > petronics ignition-electronic > engine to be applied to-1600cc twin pot > > any detailed feedback re'problems etc would be great. > > to those of you who are going, enjoy your type 3 meet. > > i thought about flying over......... > > regards > vern
