Hello 'backers!! I've got a ' 70 Squareback that I have done quite a bit of custom bodywork on including shaving the gas door on the right front fender. I was just going to re-route the fill hose but noticed that earlier Type IIIs have a stock gas tank with the filler pipe going through the sheet metal partition up near the front of the car. I am wondering what years this gas tank was available and if it will fit in place of my existing tank. My car is fuel-injected and I remember reading something about the gas filler tube and/or gas cap were "special" (something to do with the venting I think). Any ideas about what I can do? I don't mind if the earlier tanks are smaller, my car will be a nice weather driver anyway. Thanks for any input!!! Derrick ' 70 Squareback (custom) ' 61 Beetle Ragtop (custom)
