I believe that the long one that you have to take off to get your air cleaner off is the only one that should be adjusted to pick up the slack or whatever. And, yes, all of them are adjustable from both ends. If you look close you will see a small nut that is backed up to the end to keep it from spinning off. To loosen it you use a 6mm on the end piece and 7mm on the nut and twist in opposite directions -- but check the direction of the threads before hand because each end is different.
