I would look at two things to start with.  Is your battery charged all the
way? And, are you getting that full charge all the way to the ignition
circuit?  Does your generator light come on when you are driving at night
and/or the wipers are on?  If so, resistance has built up throughout your
electrical system.  The remedy is to take the connections apart one at a
time and clean them to bright, shiny copper -- and if you have any cheap
aluminum fuses, replace them with copper ones.

I have always used .004" exept for #3 which I set to .006".
