One thing I beleive Jim did not mention was that silicon Fluid does not Ignite and burn as violently as the more traditional Dot 3/4 fluids. This is not quite as important on rear engine cars, but on front engine cars the brake resevoir is often close to the exhaust manifold, and if during an accident the fluid gets on to the manifold, it is quite probable that Dot 3/4 fluid will ignite
