Text item: As far as the cold start system is I don't have one so I can't say how much it actually helps. I do have to cycle my key every time it sits more than a couple of hours. If the car sits over night it seems to lose all pressure. I have to either crank for 30 seconds or cycle the key twice and then vroom it starts right away. I was assuming I was losing pressure from leaking hoses. I replaced all the hoses and found a few small leaks. I figured this would help but I still have the same problem. Does anyone think that the fuel pump could be leaking back pressure when the vehicle is sitting? Where would I get a one way check valve to fit the fuel lines? Why would anyone disconnect it? It WONT come on if its too warm. The cars may start well without it but it may help a bit too, Ive never had or heard problems of it causing flooding ( at least on the later systems). Cycling the key to bring up FP when the car is sitting for a while is a good idea but the check valve should hold it for a few hours anyway but note that each cycle gives a shot of fuel from the CSI when its cold enough Disconnecting things haphazardly is something Homer simpson would do (DOH)! VW has a reason for everything.
