Text item: Text1 Leah, This is great! You're so lucky to have live footage -- all I have are some stills and my (weak) memories (my parents were the original owners). Very cool. List, Greg put the VW Type III commercial with Dustin Hoffman in the owners manual (wasn't it full motion at one time?). I think we need to pressure Leah to have the 16mm copied to tape and converted to full motion video and put it up on the new site (space allowing, of course). Then we get to see the Square' back in ol' glory days, a sort of history lesson, and Leah will become known around the world where ever someone with a VW has an internet connection. Of course, with all this sudden fame she'll need an agent, and, well, since I thought of the idea... ;) Toby Erkson, air_cooled_nut@pobox.com '72 VW Squareback 1.6L bored and stroked to 2.0L '75 Porsche 914 1.8L Portland, Oregon, http://www.geocities.com/MotorCity/8501/ ______________________________ Reply Separator _________________________________ Subject: My car in the movies Author: type-3-errors@umich.edu at SMTPGATE_MIME Date: 12/26/97 11:23 PM Season's Greetings, fellow Type 3 folks! Lo and behold, there was my dad in 1964 standing in front of his new '63 Squareback!! ... Guess what the next scene was--my mom was being wheeled out of the hospital with a brand new baby girl (ME!) and is shown getting into the squareback. My first ride in a car ever was in a T3!! There were some good shots of the original interior, too. I guess that's why I am so attached to the car. ...
