Wow guys (and gals), Have I got a tale for you. Just today as I dropped my girlfriend off from school, I was driving out of her neighborhood, and my gas pedal stuck to the floor, and my speed dropped drastically. I immmediatley knew it was my accelerator cable, so with my limited resources, I tackled the job right there on the side of the road with all my schoolmates driving by laughing at the "broken down" car. I'll bet they couldn't change a flat tire if there life depended on it. The only resources I had were a paper clip, some extra heater handles I had in the glove-box, and a "Multi-Plier" tool from Gerber. It's one of those that has the fold out pliers and knives and screwdrivers and all. After about 30 minutes, I used the paper clip and some stray cables left over from the old FI in the back, and got it in good enough shape to get home. A paper clip of all things. My question is, Does anyone know an easy way (and as cheap as possible)to replace the whole accelerator cable, and what types of cable work best. Budget is tight, and $5.00 would prpbably be too much, cause then I'd have to mooch off my Dad, and I don't want to do that. Thanks... Ben Lowry
